Hibiscus drenched

Unknown Beauty
I am not sure which flower this is. Does anyone know?

Go Orange

Himalayan glory - Bramha Kamala

Bramha Kamala bloom

My sister got this flower home the other day. I had never set eyes on it before. So unearthed a few facts about it. The interested can venture further!

The botanical name of this flower is 'Saussurea obvallata' and is usually found in the western Himalayas from Kashmir to Sikkim. It has very good medicinal value and is used by the herbal doctors there. This is the State Flower of Uttaranchal!! :-)

By the way, does any one know what the state flower of Karnataka is??!?!?

Common Myna is 'Acridotheres tristis'. Red Hibiscus belongs to the family 'Malvaceae' and most common types are Hibiscus rosa sinensis and Hibiscus acetosella.
